What are split battens?

Split battens are two-part interlocking mounting systems, typically made from aluminium or wood, used to securely fix items like signs, panels, mirrors, or cabinetry to walls. One batten is attached to the wall, and the other is fixed to the item being mounted. When the two battens are joined together, they lock the item in place—allowing for a strong, flush, and removable installation.

The SIGNLINK SD Split Batten system offers a clean 5mm shadowline, perfect for applications where a flush finish is desired. It features interlocking shoulders that securely hold items in place, supporting heavy loads with ease. They are cut-to-size and one-person install friendly, the SD system is ideal for small to medium mirrors, small signs, and lightweight decorative panels.

HD Split Batten – Heavy-Duty & Theft-Resistant

Need something more robust? The SIGNLINK HD Split Batten system is built for heavier installations and is ideal when security is a concern. It offers the same interlocking mechanism but with added strength and the option to permanently fix items to prevent unauthorised removal with screw or silicon adhesive. It is ideal for large signage, joinery units, and outdoor displays.
